She was a fighter, but life was a war… after taking several hits to the heart, she couldn’t fake it anymore. She dropped the wall she held for everyone else. Suddenly she was just her.
Broken story and all, she was authentic. Worn by life, and tired from the act, she let herself fall. Saying, “everyone falls, but it’s how you stand up that matters.” Only she couldn’t stand anymore.
The pain of her battle caught up with her. She collapsed, as tears of vulnerability poured out of her eyes.
While she couldn’t quite believe it for herself, she whispered, “tomorrow is another chance to change the world.”
And with that encouraging lie, she wept until her body was lost to the slumber.
